Nexus - HR management mobile & admin portal
About Nexus
Design of a HR management Dashboard (Admin portal), employee mobile application, and system architecture. The purpose of the project is to easily handle payslip distribution, employee requests, documents, benefits and internal communication between a company's HR department and its staff, in one system.
Challenge
Serving two opposite audiences from one architecture. HR works in bulk: uploading, monitoring and handling employee lists, payroll runs, request approvals/rejections; while employees open the app when they need to be informed on the company news, create a request for sick leave, confirm they received a payslip or participate in an education created by the HR admin team.
Onboarding had to reach staff without a company email at all, and the structure had to carry a second phase of two-way chat, incident reporting, surveys and educations without being rebuilt for it.
Approach
Delivering a modular architecture behind both products, so everything published from the portal has its place in the app.
Designing HR's work as bulk operations - employee list upload issuing a one-time password per person, handed over on paper and changed at first registration, and payslips distributed to everyone at once, each confirmed by the employee who receives it.
Routing requests (sick leave, certificates, annual leave) from the app to the portal for approval, with remaining leave, documents, benefits, notices and company news all in one place for the employee.
Making the overall experience engaging, playful and on-brand, and simple enough to use without instruction.
